Beyond Type 1 is an amazing online community to bring together the Type 1 family. It was founded in 2015 by Juliet de Baubigny, Nick Jonas, Sarah Lucas and Sam Talbot. The website is full of online resources including information on the different types of diabetes, resources for school, and a snail mail club!
The mascot for the snail mail club is Percy the Snail, who just so happens to be a T1 himself. He’s turquoise and blue and has his very own insulin pump!

I honestly can’t tell you the last time I sent a letter, other than bills.
But my t1d does the pen pal thing with Beyond Type 1. So she sends stuff pretty often.

Oh my goodness, our little Type 1 is addicted to stuffed toys and will be talking with our Endo about a pump next month. It would be so perfect. She got the free Snail Mail kit from Beyond Type 1 and has sent numerous cards and notes to her pen pal….last one was about two weeks ago. 🙂
