We had already planned to take a family vacation to Gatlinburg, TN this summer. We weren’t going to let T1D stop us, either! Getting ready for a trip, takes a whole lot more planning and packing when you have a kid with T1D. It’s recommended you take at least double the supplies you would normally need- both types of insulin pens (which need to be kept cool), needles, lancets, test strips, alcohol wipes, meters, glucagon, sugar/juice/candy to treat low blood sugars. And let’s not forget the snacks & water!
Now that this is ready, I can think about packing clothes & toiletries.
