How are Type 1 and Type 2 different?

Before I had a student with Type 1 Diabetes, I had no idea what the differences were between the two main types of diabetes. (On a side note, I am so very thankful I did have that student in my class two years ago… she is the reason why I had a “hunch” that Luke didn’t just have the flu last June.)

I also had no idea there were more than two types of diabetes.

This infographic from Project Blue November has been floating around the Type 1 Facebook pages I’m a part of. I thought it’d be helpful to post it here in my blog.
