ENCORE GIVEAWAY: ERIN CONDREN PLANNER!

I was so excited to announce the winners to our first diaversary giveaway last night! I’m also just as excited to give one last thing away to celebrate making it through our first year of Type 1 Diabetes.

When we first started on our journey, my everyday planner, the Life Planner from Erin Condren, became Luke’s life-saving planner. I used it to write down what he ate each meal, how many carbs each part of his meal was, his blood sugar, and how many units we gave him.

The first months of diagnosis are such a blur. We were living moment by moment, so having the vertical layout for meal/carb/BG tracking kept me so organized. It was easy to keep track of everything, and I had way more room in the Life Planner than in the little BG tracker books we were sent home with.

My 2016 Erin Condren Life Planner is the horizontal layout. I love the side boxes to keep track of the days we changed Luke’s pump site or Dexcom sensor.

Once Luke went on the Dexcom and the pump, I stopped tracking the carb counts of each meal and his BGs because the devices did that for me. Instead, I use my planner to keep track of site changes, Dex sensor changes, and expiration dates.

My 2017 Erin Condren Life Planner is in the hourly layout. I have already plugged in the expiration dates for the glucagons. I will eventually add the site and Dex changes to the sidebar, as well.

Why am I telling you all of this? Well, for one, I’m always sharing all of my tips and tricks to make life with Type 1 Diabetes as easy and worry-free as possible.

  43. Such a great idea for how to use and track it. (I just had to track blood sugars for a couple months because of gestational diabetes but I defintely would have lost my info if I had to track it long term – seriously such a good idea!)
